Piumelli shot a career-best 6-under-par 210 over 54 holes at LSU’s David Toms Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday to tie for second place individually in a field of 78 golfers; his effort helped the Jaguars finish third out of 14 teams, including nine in the Golfweek/Sagarin top 100 entering play, for their best result of the fall.  The junior opened with a 2-under-par 70 before shooting even par in the afternoon on the first day of the event, then fired a 4-under-par 68 — his lowest score of the season — in the final round.
