Beard won both her appearances this weekend at the Magic City Classic, recording 22 strikeouts in 14 total innings to be named Co-Most Valuable Pitcher of the tournament. That included a season-high 12 in a shutout of Murray State in the opener as the sophomore righty threw her second one-hitter of the year. Beard moved to 7-0 on the season against UAB, allowing only three hits, finishing the affair with 10 strikeouts; it was the third occasion she has recorded double-digit fans. She leads the club in strikeouts with 65 in 45 total innings pitched
