PENSACOLA, Fla.
– The Gulf Coast Texans, represented by three University of South Alabama women's soccer student-athletes, repeated as Women's Premier Soccer League Southeastern Conference champions by defeating Alabama Futbol Club in penalties on Saturday.

Jess Oram, Clarissa Hernandez and Florida State transfer Rylee Hart bolstered a top-seeded Texan club that rolled past the Knoxville Lady Force, 3-0, on Friday before downing first-year Alabama FC, which consists of USA student-athletes Tatum Perry, Shawn Meach, Nini Rabsatt-Smith and Alyssa Mayer.

Alabama FC defeated the Georgia Revolution, 2-0, on Friday to advance to the championship match, hosted by the Texans at Ashley Brosnaham Park in Pensacola, Fla.

Commented USA head coach Graham Winkworth, "This weekend has been a joy to attend as coach of South Alabama. The girls from both Alabama FC and the Gulf Coast Texans played with heart, passion and class. I was very proud sitting in the stands watching a very entertaining game of soccer. I am very excited that the girls have been playing a quality level of soccer this summer and cannot wait now for the whole squad to get here for preseason.

"I feel that we have good competition for places on the roster all over the park," he added. "It will be great having such depth in the squad."
