NOTES

• South Alabama hits the road for the first time in 2026 following a 39-14 season-opening victory over Southeastern Louisiana. The Jaguars controlled possession for more than 40 minutes in the victory, marking the first 40-minute time-of-possession performance in program history. South Alabama's mark led the Sun Belt and ranked sixth nationally in Week 1.
• South Alabama's rushing attack featured plenty of balance in the season opener as PJ Martin, Keenan Phillips and Trae'von Dunbar each rushed for at least 60 yards against Southeastern Louisiana. The performance came after the Jaguars ranked 18th nationally with 199.8 rushing yards per game in 2025.
•  The Jaguar defense limited Southeastern Louisiana to just 37 offensive plays in the season opener while South Alabama's offense ran 86. The Lions were also held without a third-down conversion, finishing the night 0-for-7.
• Kicker Davis Little turned in a career performance against Southeastern Louisiana, connecting on all three of his field-goal attempts and all four extra-point attempts. Little's three made field goals were a career high, while his 35-yarder established a new career long. He finished with 13 points, the most by a Sun Belt kicker in Week 1.
•  South Alabama's defense forced a pair of interceptions in the season opener. Damyrion Darby recorded the first interception of his career in the first quarter before Jaylen Moson added another later in the contest. The Jaguars also recorded their first safety since 2024.
•  Eight true freshmen saw action in South Alabama's 39-14 season-opening victory over Southeastern Louisiana, including linebacker Xavious Anderson Jr., who earned a start and recorded three tackles.
• Quarterback Bishop Davenport helped South Alabama find the end zone on its opening possession of the season, connecting with Brendan Jenkins for a 26-yard touchdown. The five-play, 55-yard drive lasted just 1:33 and marked the Jaguars' first opening-drive touchdown since 2023. Davenport entered the season as one of just 27 quarterbacks nationally named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List.
•  South Alabama will face an opponent from Louisiana for the second consecutive week. The Jaguars improved to 19-17 all-time against teams from the Pelican State with their season-opening victory over Southeastern Louisiana.

ABOUT TULANE

• Tulane enters Saturday's contest with an 0-1 record after falling to Duke, 17-3, on the road in its season opener.

• The Green Wave were held to 258 yards of total offense against Duke and did not score a touchdown in the contest.

• Quarterback Kadin Semonza completed 11-of-21 passes for 140 yards, while Destyn Hill led Tulane with five receptions for 67 yards.

• Tulane was held to 54 rushing yards and converted three of its 14 third-down attempts against Duke.

• Defensively, Kevin Adams III led the Green Wave with 11 tackles, while Jack Tchienchou and Dickson Agu recorded nine tackles apiece.

• Saturday will mark Tulane's 2026 home opener after the Green Wave opened the season on the road.

SERIES HISTORY

• Tulane leads the all-time series against South Alabama, 3-1, and has won each of the last three meetings between the programs. Saturday will mark the fifth all-time meeting between the Jaguars and Green Wave and the third time South Alabama has traveled to New Orleans for the matchup.

• South Alabama's lone victory in the series came in the first-ever meeting between the programs on Sept. 7, 2012, when the Jaguars earned a 41-39 victory in New Orleans. Three of the four all-time meetings between the two programs have been decided by one possession.

• South Alabama's most recent trip to New Orleans came on Sept. 2, 2023, when Tulane earned a 37-17 victory.
