MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama quarterback Bishop Davenport has been named to the 2026 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List, the Foundation announced Wednesday.
Davenport is one of just 27 quarterbacks from across the country selected to the watch list. The fifth-year quarterback completed 68 percent of his passes for 2,072 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also added 326 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground, accounting for 2,398 yards of total offense and 21 touchdowns.
The Golden Arm Award annually recognizes quarterbacks who demonstrate excellence both on and off the field. The award is presented by the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation alongside presenting partner A. O. Smith Corporation.
The watch list will be narrowed to semifinalists and finalists throughout the season before one quarterback is selected as the 2026 Golden Arm Award winner. The winner will be honored at the annual Golden Arm Award ceremony in Baltimore on Dec. 9.
The Golden Arm Award is named in honor of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Johnny Unitas and recognizes quarterbacks for their accomplishments on the field as well as their character, citizenship and academic commitment.
