MOBILE, Ala. - South Alabama (31-20, 15-12 SBC) prepares for its regular season finale hosting Arkansas State (28-22, 11-16 SBC) opening Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. at Stanky Field.
The series continues on Friday at 6:30 p.m., while the series finale is slated for Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (CT).
SERIES HISTORY
The Red Wolves of Arkansas State are the sixth most common opponent of the Jaguars with 114 games in the record books on the diamond between them. South Alabama holds a 40-game difference of a 77-37 all-time series lead over Arkansas State and has historically dominated games played at Eddie Stanky Field 41-14. Although the most recent matchup in Jonesboro ended with a series win for the Red Wolves in 2025, both teams have consistently defended their home field, with each winning its home series against the other dating back to 2019.
SCOUTING THE RED WOLVES
Arkansas State started the season off on the right foot when it won all but one non-conference series. The momentum brought the Red Wolves into a series with then-No. 7 Southern Miss to open conference play where it took two of three from the Golden Eagles. However, Arkansas State would go on to lose six of its next eight conference series including coming off being swept by Texas State prior to South Alabama. Despite the below .500 conference record, the squad brings impressive numbers on both sides of the ball. The Red Wolves are second in the Sun Belt in both team ERA (4.17) and home runs (73).
