MOBILE, Ala. | After capturing the program's fourth conference tournament title and earning the Sun Belt Conference's automatic bid, South Alabama is headed to Baton Rouge, La., to compete in the NCAA DI Softball Championship set to be held May 15-17.
The 2026 Baton Rouge Regional features host LSU (37-17), making its 27th NCAA Tournament appearance as the No. 16 overall seed, Virginia Tech (46-10) as the No. 2 seed, South Alabama (32-25) as the No. 3 seed, and Mid-American Conference Champions Akron (34-23) as the fourth seed.
The Jaguars will open up play with Virginia Tech on Friday at 3 p.m. at Tiger Park.
Tickets will go on-sale to the general public starting on Tuesday, May 12, at 10 a.m. (CT). Tickets can be purchased through the LSU Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 960-8587 or (225) 578-2184 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (CT).

www.LSUtix.net. All tickets will be sent via mobile delivery. Children 2 years and under do not need a ticket.

The Jaguars are making their seventh NCAA tournament appearance and their first since 2024 when they competed at the Gainesville Regional.
South earned the bid after defeating three of the top four seeds at the Sun Belt Conference Championship, capped off by a 3-2 victory Saturday evening over third-seeded Texas State.
South Alabama was one of three teams from the Sun Belt Conference to earn a bid to the national postseason tournament, joining Texas State (Gainesville Regional) and Marshall (Durham Regional).
Of the 64-team tournament field, the Jaguars faced 10 teams: Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Jacksonville State, LSU, Marshall, McNeese State, Mississippi State, Texas State and Southeastern Louisiana.
The winner of the Baton Rouge Regional will advance to the Super Regional to face the winner of the Tuscaloosa Regional, hosted by the overall No. 1 seed Alabama.
