MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama men's basketball head coach Richie Riley announced the signing of NAIA First Team All-American transfer guard Jalen Langsy for the 2026-27 season.
A 6-foot-1 guard from Shakopee, Minnesota, Langsy arrives in Mobile after one of the most explosive offensive seasons in the country. He earned NAIA First Team All-American and NABC First Team All-American honors after averaging 27.3 points per game, which ranked second nationally. He also finished second in the NAIA in free throw percentage (90.9%) and third in three-point percentage (51.0%).
Langsy totaled 928 points during the 2025-26 season, knocking down 152 three-pointers while adding 135 assists and 41 steals. He shot 58.1 percent from the field, 51.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 90.9 percent at the free throw line while starting all 34 games and averaging 35.6 minutes per contest.
"Jalen is the best shooter in the country at any level, period," said Riley. "He shoots it so well that his ability to be a three-level scorer is underrated. He plays with incredible pace and IQ, which has led to unprecedented offensive efficiency. On the defensive end, he will be really impactful in our zone. We are pumped to welcome Jalen and his incredible family to our program."
He set Northwestern College's single-season record for made three-pointers and broke the school's single-game record with 12 threes against Dordt on Jan. 28. Langsy recorded four 40-point games, reached the 30-point mark 13 times, and poured in a career-high 49 points against William Penn.
Before his breakout sophomore campaign, Langsy made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2024-25, earning First Team All-GPAC honors. He averaged 17.5 points per game while knocking down 111 three-pointers and totaling 578 points. Over two collegiate seasons, he scored 1,506 career points and shot 48.4 percent from three.
Jalen played his prep basketball at Shakopee High School, where he averaged 18.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. He earned First Team All-Conference honors and totaled over 700 career points.
Langsy becomes the third addition to the Jaguars' program this month, joining fellow transfers Owen Kenney and Aaron Goldstein.
