MOBILE, Ala. – After powering South Alabama to a 2–0 road swing with two dominant performances, Chaze Harris has been named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Harris averaged 28.0 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 60.7 percent (17-for-28) from the field and converting 20 free throws on the week, leading the Jaguars to wins over Southern Miss and Arkansas State.

In an 84–78 victory at Southern Miss, Harris scored 26 points on 9-of-11 shooting, adding four assists, three rebounds, and two steals in 33 minutes. He followed that performance with a 30-point outing in a 92–88 overtime comeback win at Arkansas State, finishing 8-of-17 from the floor, 2-of-2 from three-point range, and 12-of-14 at the free-throw line. He added five assists, four rebounds, and three steals with a +20 plus/minus in the victory.

With South Alabama trailing by 18 points with 7:45 remaining at Arkansas State, Harris delivered the defining moment of the night — drilling a running three-pointer through contact with four seconds left in regulation and converting the four-point play to force overtime. The Jaguars completed the rally in the extra period to secure one of the most improbable comebacks of the season.

Harris currently ranks first in the Sun Belt in scoring at 18.3 points per game.

This marks Harris' second Player of the Week honor this season after previously earning the award on Dec. 23. It is the sixth Sun Belt Player of the Week recognition for South Alabama over the past three seasons and the third this year, as Adam Olsen also earned the honor in early January.
