Meet Schedule
Originally scheduled as a one-day meet, the Jaguar Invitational will now begin with a single competition on Saturday, April 26th with the hammer throw. Sunday will have the other 19 events of the meet along with a senior recognition that will follow the 4x100 meter relay race at 4:15 p.m. CT.
Notes
- With one week remaining in the regular season, 14 Jaguar athletes are currently in a qualifying position for the NCAA East First Rounds. On the men's side, Samuel Warriner (decathlon), Dylan Hale, Jackson Laughlin, and Reuben Booysen (javelin), Will Frederick (pole vault), Kosta Zografos (high jump), Kendal White (400-meter hurdles), and Jadon Thomason (110-meter hurdles) are all positioned to advance. For the women, Jamie Willis, Megan Hamilton Strong, and Calli Stokes have qualified in the heptathlon, while Ava Wheaton (javelin), Iyana Johnson (hammer throw), and Flora Dupans (discus) are also in contention.
- White has been on fire securing two new PRs in the 400-meter hurdles in back-to-back weeks. He picked up his first event win of the season last week, posting the third-fastest time in program history at the Georgia Tech Invitational with a time of 50.78. He ranks 30th in the country and first in the Sun Belt at that time.
- Freshman Will Frederick registered a sizable personal best for the Jaguar men, clearing 5.19 meters (17-0 ¼) to secure third place overall and the No.6 ranking in South Alabama pole vault history.
- Charleen Elizondo earned the second fastest time in program history in the 10,000 meters with a time of 35:23.43 at the Bryan Clay Invitational a week ago.
- Booysen is the highest-ranked Jaguar in the country this season. His throw of 72.45 meters in the javelin is the 14th-best this year.
- The 400-meter hurdles crew, consisting of Kendal White, Jadon Thomason, Bo Webb, and Ryler Gould is sixth with a time of 3:33.21.
- On the women's side, the javelin team of Ava Wheaton, Calli Stokes, Mallory Norton, and Karleigh Mills are ranked 19th in the country with a combined throw of 168.51 meters (552-10).
