MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama softball welcomes Marshall for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series this weekend at Jaguar Field. The two teams are scheduled to open the series on Friday night at 6 p.m., with game two of the series set for a 3 p.m. start on Saturday, and the series finale set for Sunday at 12 p.m.

South Alabama (15-23, 4-7 SBC) enters the conference series versus Marshall (22-17, 8-4 SBC) after being swept by Texas State last weekend.
Gabby Stagner will be looking to make more history this weekend, which is her Senior Day weekend, as she is currently tied with Kamdyn Kvistad for the program's career home run lead at 36, while already holding the career RBI mark at South (140). Stagner (.340) leads the team in several offensive categories as she has nine home runs, holds a .660 slugging percentage and a team-high 33 RBI. She is tied for second in triples (3), and also ranks among the league leaders in home runs (10th) and RBI (ninth). Stagner has a team-best 11 multi-RBI games this season and also leads the team in multi-hit games with nine.
Presley Lively is batting .287 and the true freshman leads the Sun Belt triples (4) and is tied for fourth in walks (24), while her 15 stolen bases are second-most in the league and she is tied for ninth in runs scored (34). Lively has scored two or more runs in nine games this spring, and she also has eight multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games which both rank as second-most on the Jaguar roster. Eight of Lively's hits have gone for extra bases, including an inside-the-park home run. Her four triples are tied for 28th in the NCAA, and as a team South Alabama is tied for 36th nationally with 11.
Sidney Lee (.265) leads the club with nine doubles, which are tied for seventh in the league.
Olivia Branstetter (.278) is tied for second on the club in RBI with Lively as both have driven in 17, and her 18 walks are second most. Both her and
Megan Davidson also lead the team in HBP with seven each, while Lee and
Caitlyn Gavin have been hit six and five times, respectively.
As a team, South leads the league in triples, and is tied for second in hit-by-pitch (35) – 20th in the NCAA – and sacrifice flies (13).
In the circle,
Ryley Harrison leads the club with seven wins and the sophomore holds a 2.84 earned run average, while she has also struck out 76 batters. In conference play, Harrison has allowed just eight earned runs in her 38.1 innings of work for a 1.46 ERA, which is second lowest among league pitchers, while she has also struck out 37, which is second, as well as her 12 strikeouts looking. Harrison ranks in the Top 10 of the league in ERA (fifth), innings pitched (seventh), strikeouts (ninth), strikeouts looking (sixth) and saves (t-fourth).
