MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama Football completed its spring practices with a scrimmage on Thursday morning at Hancock Whitney Stadium.
 
"Throughout the spring I enjoyed the way we practiced," said South Alabama head coach Major Applewhite. "I was excited about our tempo. That was one thing we focused on during spring ball. There's plenty of scheme and that's important. It's important that we put in the plays and learn the progression we teach, but the style of play and how we play the game is more important."
 
The Jaguars will now turn their attention to Saturday's South Spring Showcase.
 
The day will start at 10 a.m. CT when the South Alabama National Alumni Association hosts its annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Jaguar Training Center. There will be over 6,000 eggs hidden, along with special prizes and collectible eggs from President Jo Bonner.
 
At 10:30 a.m., the gates to Hancock Whitney Stadium will open and the annual athletics yard sale will begin in the Core Industries Lounge, located on the west side of the stadium. The yard sale gives fans the opportunity to purchase South Alabama Athletics team apparel at a discounted price. Items include jerseys, shirts, pants, shorts, shoes, football helmets and more.
 
The football team will begin its practice portion of the day at 11:20 a.m. In lieu of a traditional spring game, the Jaguars will participate in a variety of drills and skill competitions. Some of these include individual position drills, 7-on-7, fastest player, strongest man, quarterback accuracy and more.
 
Once the team has finished its drills and competitions, the players and coaches will host a kids clinic on the field at 12:30 p.m. for kids ages 5-12. The clinic will last 30 minutes, then the players and coaches will stick around to give away posters and sign autographs at 1 p.m.
