– Saturday's contest will not only mark the final game of the regular season for South Alabama, but it will likely be the last meeting with Texas State for some time as the Bobcats prepare to join the Pac 12 ahead of the 2026 football season. South Alabama and Texas State have met every season since 2018.

– The Jaguars will have the opportunity to close the season on a three-game winning streak after beating ULM and Southern Miss in back-to-back weeks. South Alabama has not won three games in a row since the 2022 season when it finished the regular season on a five-game winning streak.

Nehemiah Chandler is among the best defensive backs nationally, ranking third in the country in passes defended per game at 1.36.

– With his performance against Southern Miss,
Kentrel Bullock surpassed 1,000 rushing yards this season. He is the first running back in the Sun Belt to reach 1,000 yards and ranks 20th in the nation.

The Bobcats enter Saturday's game needing a win to clinch bowl eligibility with their record at 5-6. After enduring a five-game losing streak, Texas State is winners of its last-two. GJ Kinne is in his third season as head coach of the Bobcats, and owns a record of 21-16. Brad Jackson quarterbacks Texas State and has thrown for 2,769 yards and 16 touchdowns on the year. Jackson has also rushed for 579 yards and 13 scores. Lining up next to him in the backfield is Lincoln Pare, who has rushed for 931 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The two schools have met 10 times with Texas State owning a 6-4 series lead. The Jags have never won in San Marcos, but are 4-1 against the Bobcats in Mobile. Texas State has won the past-two matchups.
