MOBILE, Ala. | After not competing in over a month, the South Alabama women's golf team returns to action as it competes at the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate hosted by North Florida at the Jacksonville Golf & Country Club in Jacksonville, Fla.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament is set to get underway on Monday morning with a 7:30 a.m. (CT) shotgun start on the par 72, 6,266-yard course. Final round action will start on Tuesday morning at 7:45 a.m. (CT) with a shotgun start as well. Live scoring link for each round will be available on USAJaguars.com.Â
Along with the Jags and host Ospreys, the 16-team field includes Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Boise State, Charlotte, Daytona State, Eastern Kentucky, High Point, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Old Dominion, Sam Houston State, ULM, Western Kentucky and Xavier.
South Alabama will be paired with Xavier, Lipscomb and ULM, and tee off on holes 10-13 in the opening round.
Scheduled to compete for the Jaguars at the tournament are
Katharina Schroll (No. 1),
Mercedes Aldana (No. 2),
Malia Uyeshiro (No. 3),
Anna Behnsen (No. 4) and
Cassidy Lambert (No. 5).Â
All five have been solid out on the links this season – Schroll (72.3), Aldana (72.8), Uyeshiro (73.5), Behnsen (74.1) and Lambert (74.2). Aldana – who is coming off medalist honors in her last event – has fired a team-best eight rounds at par or under, while Scholl has seven under par, including two under 70, and a team-best 43 birdies. Behnsen also has four rounds of her own under 70, and has carded 31 birdies and an eagle. Aldana and Uyeshiro are close behind with 28 and 25 birdies, respectively.
As a team, South Alabama finished inside the top four in four of its five events and is averaging 291.5 strokes per round.
