South Alabama Announces Full 2025 Football Schedule

MOBILE, Ala. – In conjunction with the Sun Belt Conference, South Alabama Football announced its 2025 schedule Friday.

The Jaguars' schedule features 12 games, eight of which will be played in the state of Alabama. Two of those in-state games will be South's very first meeting against Auburn, and the annual Battle for the Belt against Troy. The Jags will also play two mid-week games that will be nationally televised on the ESPN family of networks.

South Alabama will open the 2025 campaign with back-to-back home games in the friendly confines of Hancock Whitney Stadium. The season begins on Saturday, Aug. 30 against FCS foe Morgan State before Tulane comes to town the following week on Saturday, Sept. 6. It will mark Tulane's first visit to Hancock Whitney Stadium since Sept. 2020, which was the very first game played in the brand-new stadium.

The first road game of the season for the Jags will be a historic one as they travel to Auburn to take on the Tigers in Jordan-Hare Stadium for the first time in program history. It will mark the second-straight year South has faced an SEC opponent with the Jaguars having played at LSU in 2024. The Jaguars and Tigers will do battle on Saturday, Sept. 13.

Sun Belt Conference play begins on Saturday, Sept. 20 for USA when it hosts East Division opponent Coastal Carolina. It will mark the first time South and Coastal have met on the gridiron since 2021. After the matchup win the Chanticleers, the Jags will travel for their final nonconference game of the season when they visit the Lonestar State to play North Texas on Saturday, Sept. 27. That will mark the first and only multi-game road swing of the season for South Alabama as the Jags will then make the quick trip to Troy on Saturday, Oct. 4 to play the Battle for the Belt. South defeated Troy 25-9 in 2024 to win the belt for the first time since 2017.

On Tuesday, Oct. 14, South Alabama will host Arkansas State in the Jaguars' lone non-Saturday home game of the season. The game against the Red Wolves will be nationally televised on an ESPN platform. The Jags will then travel to East Division opponent Georgia State on Thursday, Oct. 23 for their second-straight, nationally-televised weeknight game.

November's slate of games will alternate between home and away for the Jags, starting with a home contest against Louisiana on Saturday, Nov. 1. After enjoying a bye week, South will then travel to ULM on Saturday, Nov. 15 before playing its final home game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 22 against Southern Miss. The regular season will come to a close on Saturday, Nov. 29 when USA visits Texas State. It will mark the third-straight season the Jags and Bobcats meet in the final game of the regular season.

Kickoff times and networks for all midweek games and weekend games in the first three weeks of the season will be selected in late May. All other games will fall into the traditional 12-day selection process.
