NOTES
Â
– Looking to snap its current five-game losing streak, South Alabama has not lost six in a row since the 2019 season when the Jaguars lost nine-straight before ending that losing streak against Arkansas State. The Jags beat the Red Wolves 34-30 in the last game of the year to stop the skid.
Â
– South Alabama has won each of its last-two Tuesday night matchups, both being played at Hancock Whitney Stadium. The Jags took down Troy in 2024 by a score of 25-9, and beat up on Southern Miss, 55-3, in 2023.
Â
– Cornerback
Nehemiah Chandler has emerged as a key player on South Alabama's defense, and leads the team with six passes defended on the year (five breakups and one interception). Chandler ranks third in the Sun Belt in the category.
Â
– Running back
Kentrel Bullock leads the Sun Belt Conference in rushing attempts at 108 for the season. He also ranks second in rushing yards (496) and second in rushing touchdowns (5).

QUOTES
Â
"We've played with a sense of urgency, but we haven't played well or executed all the time. We've got to put our guys in a better position, but a sense of urgency is something we've had."
Â
-
Major Applewhite on the team needing to execute better, but having a good sense of urgency
Â
"I thought we played hard. There were some good stops. My favorite part of the game was probably coming out of the gate there in the second half. I thought we did a good job of taking the ball away there at the very beginning, and then getting a three-and-out on the next drive. I thought we did some good things, we've just got to continue to build on that."
Â
-
Will Windham on what he saw from the defense at Troy
Â
"I thought our guys really stayed fighting and battling with good drives in the second half. We just needed to make one or two more plays at different parts of the game."
Â
-Paul Petrino on the offensive effort at Troy
