MOBILE, Ala. - The South Alabama women were led by junior Charleen Elizondo with a personal best time of 17:17.8 to secure the women's team a second place finish in the 5k. Xavier Johnson paced the men's team in the 7k on Friday, claiming a second place individual finish and led the team to a first place victory.

Johnson crossed the line with a time of 22:45.0, just five seconds behind the individual winner Mason Appleton from New Orleans. Six Jaguars placed inside the top-10 to land the team in first place.

Elizondo won the individual title at the Azalea City Classic for the second year in a row, and increased the women's individual title streak at the event to 11 years consecutively. The junior beat her previous personal best by nine seconds.
