MOBILE, Ala. – The South Alabama Track and Field program is back in Birmingham this weekend to host the South Alabama Indoor Invitational on Sunday, Feb.2 at the Birmingham Crossplex.
The teams competing at the event include Anderson, Auburn, Alcorn State, Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Christian Brothers, Emmanuel (Ga.), Lee (Tenn.), New Orleans, Morehouse, Miles College, Oglethorpe, Reinhardt, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy, and Tuskegee.
Track events will start at 9:30 a.m. with the women's 5000 meters and will conclude with the Men's 4x400 meter relay around 4:15 p.m. Field events will open with the men's and women's shot put at 11 a.m. and conclude with the women's triple jump at 3:15 p.m.

Sebastian Loschner has had an impressive start to the Indoor season. Loschner was named Sun Belt Field Athlete of the Week after a fourth place finish at the Samford Invitational in the shot put with a toss of 17.98 meters (59 '0). He also earned a new personal best in the weight throw with a throw of 17.36 meters (56'11.5") at the Jack Johnson Classic.

Transfer Flora Dupans has been dominant this year writing her name into the Indoor Jaguar record books multiple times. Dupans squashed her personal best in the shot put with a toss of 14.95 meters (49 '0.75"), which ranks her fifth all-time in South Alabama history while also taking second place at the Jack Johnson Classic. She also set a new personal best in the weight throw, launching a toss of 14.86 meters (48'9") to secure seventh place all-time in the South Alabama record books during the season opener.

Senior Kendal White had a phenomenal showing at the season opener in Samford. He bested former Jag Jody Huddlestons' school record in the 60-meter hurdles that was originally set in 1977 (7.95) with a time of 7.94 seconds.

Freshman Presleigh Montalvo showed out in the first meet of her collegiate career, posting a time of 7.65 in the 60 meters, earning third place and moving her to fifth place in the Jags' all-time indoor record books at the Samford Invitational.

This is the fourth meet of the indoor season for the Jags that is taking place at the CrossPlex.

The CrossPlex will host the Sun Belt Championships on February 24-25.
