Jags Travel to Birmingham to Compete in Samford Intercollegiate

MOBILE, Ala.- The South Alabama women's tennis team will be back on the road as they head to Birmingham to compete in the Samford Women's Intercollegiate tournament.

South is coming off a successful weekend in which they dominated the Thomasville Intercollegiate by taking first place as well as only falling in two matches total. Strong singles play from Lara van der Merwe helped lead the Jags as well as even better play in doubles with duo van der Merwe and Rio Maeda.

South is aiming to replicate their season from a year ago, as they finished 18-6 and made a deep run in the Sun Belt tournament.
