Jaguar Men Sweep the Top-Five Spots and Elizondo Wins the Women's Individual at Azalea City Classic

MOBILE, Ala. - Charleen Elizondo took the women's individual title and Sacha Perrier led the men to a win at the Azalea City Classic.

Sacha Perrier took first place in the men's race, followed by Amos Pkemoi, who set a cross country 5k personal record. Taking the top five positions, South won the team title handily in the first competition of the season.

The women's team finished in second place with sophomore Charleen Elizondo winning her first cross country individual title, followed by Teanna Cason placing third, Macy Livingston taking eighth place, and Kate Miller landing in ninth.

Post-Race Notes
-This was South's only host event of the cross country season
-Elizondo continues the now 10 year run of individual women's titles
-Elizondo set a new personal best by 57 seconds with her 17:26.6 time
-Perrier also extends the mens' individual title streak to seven with his time of 14:58.8
-For the men, Barden Ary, John Luke Stovall, and Luke Regan competed unattached, and Kyla Sisulak, Katie Giles, Aubry Zubrei, and Rylee Denigan ran unattached on the women's side
