MOBILE, Ala. - South Alabama men's and women's cross country completed the Azalea City Classic, its third meet of the season, Friday evening at Blakely State Park. The women's team delivered its best race of the season, finishing first among six teams with a score of 24. The men's team placed second among five teams, finishing just behind rival Troy with a score of 37.

• "I thought it was a good day overall. We came out here with a race plan that we were trying to execute and do some new things as we are in the middle of the season. We are trying to learn and just maybe grow as racers. So I saw a lot of good things today. I really thought the women executed pretty well; I think the men made some good moves. I think we came up a little bit short and did not quite stick to the plan in the last mile. So that is something we can take with us, though, and work on as we get towards the end of the season."
