MOBILE, Ala. | Match ups with LSU and Florida State highlight the eight-game fall schedule as announced by South Alabama softball on Tuesday. Of the eight-game slate, seven will be held at Jaguar Field, while South will close out the fall at Florida State in early November.
The fall schedule gets underway on Sunday, September 29 with a contest versus Mississippi Gulf Coast at 1 p.m. The following weekend, South is scheduled for a pair of games as it takes on Coastal Alabama CC (10/5) at 2 p.m. and Northwest Florida State (10/6) at 1 p.m.
The Jaguars will then take on three-straight opponents in three days facing LSU (10/17), West Florida (10/18) and AUM (10/19). LSU won 44 games in 2024, finished ranked as high as 11th in the nation and advanced to the Super Regionals for the ninth time in program history. LSU has made 18 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and advanced to the Women's College World Series four times under Beth Torina.
West Florida – a 36-game winner – just missed out on making the postseason, while AUM (47-14) placed sixth in the nation, won the Gulf South Conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA Championship last season.
The final weekend of the fall sees South Alabama host Bishop State on Friday, Nov. 1 before traveling to Tallahassee, Fla., to face the Seminoles. FSU (46-16) advanced to the Super Regionals before falling to eventual national champion Oklahoma last season.
