Cantia Rahming to play for South Alabama men's basketball

MOBILE, Ala. – Cantia Rahming has signed to play for the South Alabama men's basketball program, head coach Richie Riley announced Wednesday afternoon. 

Cantia Rahming, a 6-7 forward out of Tampa, Fla., joins the Jaguars as a graduate transfer after playing the last four seasons at Division ll Saint Leo University in St. Leo, Fla. This past season, Rahming averaged 12.8 points, 10.7 rebounds, and two assists per game, while recording 14 games with a double-double. Rahming started all 28 games and averaged a team leading 31.8 minutes per game. Additionally he ranked second among all players in the Sunshine States Conference in rebounds per game (10.7) and field goal percentage (59.0) this past season. 

During his sophomore year at Saint Leo, he appeared in 27 games and started in 17. He contributed 9.7 points per game and totaled a career-high 29 points against Trinity (Fla.). 

Rahming was named 6A Player of the Year in Florida in 2020 while attending Hillsborough High School. He averaged 20.7 points and the seventh most rebounds per game in the nation with 17.3 per contest. 

He joins Barry Dunning Jr, Dylan Fasoyiro, Jayden Cooper, and Randy Brady as the fifth addition for the Jaguars in the transfer portal in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
