MOBILE, Ala. -Â South Alabama wins their third extra-innings game of the season as the Jags win their final home series of the season against ULM, 4-3.
ULM took the early three-run lead after an RBI-double in the second inning and back-to-back hits in the fourth that scored two more.Â
Lucas Ismaili kicked things off for the Jaguars in the sixth inning with a solo home run to Kit's Korner in left field, followed by getting the bases loaded in the seventh for Holt to score another after being hit by a pitch.Â
USA waited until the ninth inning to strike next, with
Rett Johnson and
Nathan Wood drawing walks to put
Will Turner on the plate. Turner then slapped a single into shallow center field to send home Johnson.Â
Grant Wood took over on the mound in the seventh, holding the tide of the Warhawk bats at bay with only one hit allowed.
Zach Willingham then entered in the 10th retiring the two batters he faced, then went on to only allow a walk and a single, while striking out six batters in his 3.2 innings.Â
Tyler Borges reached on a walk to start the 13th, advancing on a sacrifice bunt, and
Nathan Wood dropped a single through the infield that sent Borges home to walk it off.
Winning Pitcher:Â

Losing Pitcher:Â Zach Shaw (0-1)
QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi
On how the Jaguars outlasted ULM:Â Our pen was phenomenal. They've been really good. Phenomenal today man,
Gant Starling, he through Friday. I probably left them out there too long today but that kid man, he's just a special dude. I hate that he had to participate on senior day. You know what I mean? Because we only have him for one year, but he's a special kid. Bunch of seniors, and we've got some really special guys on the team. Phenomenal, you know their splits were noticeably worse against left-handed pitching than right. There really wasn't a right handed matchup in the whole thing. There was some even, and I just stayed with the hot hand. There were a couple guys even right and left and Willingham was the guy that we had out there. His pitch count was manageable and he was absolutely phenomenal. They do take better at bats against right handed pitching. We saw that all weekend and our lefties were the story. (Danny) Diaz was great yesterday, (Cam) Hill was really good, (Jaxon) Shineflew was really good, (Logan) Wash was pretty good, and then Willingham, with the five lefties was outstanding. We needed him this weekend or I don't know if our fate might be a little bit different.
