MOBILE, Ala. - The Jaguars, despite throwing five shutout innings to end the game, were unable to mount a comeback in the 5-1 loss to Southern Miss.
USM scored all five runs in the first four innings, with the Jags' single run coming in the third.
Cam Hill gave 5.1 innings with three strikeouts, with
Jaxon Shineflew shoving 2.2 innings with three hits and no runs. Sophomore
Tyler Smith threw the final inning, retiring all three batters faced.Â
The Jaguars' lone run came off a
Joseph Sullivan single that scored
JG Bell from third.
