South Alabama Signs Two Transfers for 2024-25 season

MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama men's basketball head coach Richie Riley has announced the addition of two transfers to the Jaguars' roster for the 2024-25 season. 

Barry Dunning Jr., a 6-6 small forward from Mobile, Ala., joins South Alabama after spending his sophomore season with UAB. During the 2023-24 campaign, he played 15 games for the Blazers, totaling 65 minutes. Before his time at UAB, Dunning began his collegiate career at Arkansas, where he appeared in 16 games and made one start for the Razorbacks. 

Dunning was named a four-star recruit and McDonald's All American nominee while attending local powerhouse McGill Toolen High School. He won Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year twice (2021 & 2022) and was rated as the No.1 player in Alabama by ESPN, 247 Composite and 247 Sports. As a senior, he averaged 25.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, 3.3 steals, 2.6 assists and 1.7 blocks per game.

Dylan Fasoyiro, a 6-3 guard, joins the Jaguar program as a graduate transfer after playing the last two seasons at Division ll Daemen University in Amherst, N.Y. Fasoyiro is a two-time First-Team All-East Coast Conference selection, Second-Team All-D2CCA East Region, NABC Second-Team All-District, and CSC Academic All-District. Fasoyiro led the Wildcats in scoring in both seasons, averaging 17.3 points per game last season, ranking him fourth among all players in the East Coast Conference. Fasoyiro started all 28 games as a senior, shooting 48 percent from the field and 41 percent from three-point range with 66 three-point field goals. Additionally, he scored 20 or more points 13 times at Daemen and was named to the ECC Championship All-Tournament Team twice in his career. 

 A Houston native, Fasoyiro played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. As a freshman, he played 18 games and helped the Eagles win the GLIAC Conference Championship to advance to the Division II NCAA Tournament.
