MOBILE, Ala. - The Jags resume midweek action in Birmingham against the UAB Blazers on Wednesday, May 1 at 4 p.m.

UAB is 20-22 on the season, and 0-1 against Sun Belt competition after a midweek game against Troy. Overall, against shared opponents, the Blazers are 7-9 (1-1 vs Alabama, 0-2 vs Auburn, 2-1 vs Tulane, 1-1 vs Jacksonville State, 0-1 vs Troy, 2-1 vs North Alabama, 1-2 vs Southeastern Louisiana). The Blazers are coming off a home series victory over Charlotte last weekend to put them 7-11 in conference play.

South Alabama holds a 53-32 record across the 85 games series. The series with the Blazers began in 1979, with the first two games of the year in Birmingham. The inaugural game resulted in a UAB victory, but the next three games in that season were for the Jaguars. The last time the Jags and Blazers played was in 2023, which the Jags took, 7-6. South has not played at UAB since 2000, which ended 5-3 in favor of the Blazers.
