MOBILE, Ala. -Â South Alabama fails to keep pace with the JMU offense in the 10-3 loss.
A solo shot in the first inning by Lucas Ismaili gave the Jags the early lead, but James Madison took the lead in the fourth, 2-1 and never looked back. A pair of doubles in the fifth scored two more for the Dukes. JMU then scored another three over the next two innings off three solo home runs.Â
Rett Johnson scored one run in for South in the bottom of the seventh, and Mathews another in the ninth.Â
Winning Pitcher:Â Donovan Burke (5-0)
Losing Pitcher:Â Leif Moore (2-2)

Head Coach Mark Calvi
On what was different today vs yesterday:Â Well, they got some balls up, you know, they hit three home runs today and they got some balls up into the wind and, we jumped first, which was good. They won the middle innings and they won the last third of the game. Like I said, they got some guys on base. They got some balls up into the wind and, you know, blowing 20 miles an hour out today. They hit a couple of balls that, you know, probably stay in the ballpark on any other day, but today there were home runs, and we had the same weather to deal with and we didn't utilize that. You know, I thought we had some decent at bats early and then we didn't push; we let Burke off the hook. We started chasing some breaking balls down and in, and it was just one of those games. So we move on and be ready for tomorrow. I thought Leif was pretty damn good. I really thought he was good. I thought he was solid and put us in position (to win) through four and 2/3, would love to see him get us five but, our bullpen has been a real strength of ours the last month or so, and today it wasn't but, we've got plenty left for tomorrow.
