LONG BEACH, Calif. / AZUSA, Calif. / TROY, Ala. – South Alabama Track and Field recorded three event wins, nine podium finishes, and several personal records on the final day of competition at the Long Beach Invitational, Bryan Clay Invitational, and Doc Anderson Invitational.
Doc Anderson Invitational
Sebastian Loschner fueled the Jaguars at Troy, securing his first event win of this outdoor season in the discus with a personal best throw of 58.21 meters (191'0").
Reuben Booysen set a new personal record in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.97 meters (167'2") to earn fourth place overall.
Iyana Johnson followed suit in the hammer throw, setting a personal record of her own with a hurl of 54.40 meters (178'5") to bring home the silver medal.
The Jags secured a clean sweep in the heptathlon as Kayden Engel, Jamie Willis, and Rocio Chaparro took all three spots on the podium. Engel recorded five personal bests and an event win in the high jump to total 4769 points. Jamie Willis snagged second place with 4609 points and a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.62. Chaparro grabbed third with 4586 points and three total second-place finishes.
Over in the Decathlon, Brylan Shirley and Nic Glass put together solid outings to grab first and second place in the competition. Shirley earned his second career event win with 6225 total points and eight top-four finishes, while Glass finished in second with 6219 points and two event wins in the high jump and the javelin.
In the men's pole vault, Carter Tinnerman earned the best finish of his career earning second place with a clearance of 4.35 meters (14'3.25").
Samuel Mika finishes in third place with a PR throw of 16.33m (53'7") in the men's shot put.
Mallory Norton logged a third-place finish with a season-best throw of 38.81m (127'4") in the javelin.
Long Beach Invitational
Kendal White and Grace Wolf turned in stellar times in the 400-meter hurdles. White clocked a blazing time of 53.57 to earn fourth place overall out of a field of 50 runners. Wolf posted a season-best time of 1:00.03 to take sixth place overall.
Bodine Degli-Umberti finished 12th place in the hammer throw with a throw of 58.50 meters (191'11"). Degli-Umberti followed up that performance with a toss of 48.77 meters (160'0") to earn 14th place in the discus.
Ava Grace Wheaton took 26th place in the women's javelin with a toss of 41.10 meters (134'10").
Bryan Clay Invitational
Xavier Johnson finished fifth in his heat with a personal record time of 14:06.28 in the 5000 meters.

With four weeks before the Sun Belt Conference Championships, the Jaguars will shift their focus to Auburn to compete in the Tiger Track Classic on Thursday, April 17 through Saturday, April 20.
