MOBILE, Ala. – The South Alabama men's basketball team will wrap up its regular season at home this week, hosting Southern Miss on Wednesday, Feb.28 at 7 p.m. before welcoming ULM on Friday, March 1 at 7 p.m. for Senior Day.

Last Time Out
Samuel Tabe and Marcus Millender combined for 54 total points, but it was not enough as the South Alabama men's basketball team fell to Arkansas State 95-78 in Jonesboro last Saturday. The Jags outshot the Red Wolves from the field (50%) and three-point range (58.3%) in the loss. Arkansas State had five players finish with double figures and collected 42 points in the paint.
Notes
- Samuel Tabe has been on a tear in the last three games, averaging 30.3 points and six rebounds per contest. After scoring the most points by any player in the Richie Riley era against Arkansas State on Feb. 17, Tabe followed up that performance by, finishing with 29 points and five rebounds against Southern Miss before scoring 27 points and seven rebounds at Arkansas State on Feb.22.
- Freshman Marcus Millender has been a dominant force for the Jaguars as of late. Millender set a new career-high with 27 points on 5-of-6 shooting from behind the arc against Arkansas State on Feb.22. He has also been a floor general for South Alabama, compiling 36 assists in the last eight contests: at Texas State 5, at Louisiana 3, Georgia Southern 4, NIU, 8, Texas State 6, Arkansas State 6, at Southern Miss 3, and Arkansas State 1. He currently has 95 total assists, ranking him third all-time in assists as a Freshman.
- The Jags have been incredibly efficient from the free-throw line this year. South ranks second in the Sun Belt in free throw percentage, shooting 75.0 percent from the charity stripe. Through 29 games, this is the third-highest team free-throw percentage in program history. South also set a new season-high in free throws made with 31 against Georgia Southern.
- South Alabama is 4-2 since Marcus Millender and Julian Margrave have been back in the starting lineup. Millender has averaged 14.7 points, while Margrave has averaged 8.5 points on 17-of-31 shooting from behind the arc, four rebounds, and in the last six games.
- The Jags had a red-hot night shooting the basketball in the first matchup against Southern Miss, shooting a season-high 61.5 percent from behind the arc. South Alabama currently ranks fourth in the Sun Belt in three-point percentage, shooting 34.8 percent from downtown.
- Isiah Gaiter has scored double figures in 20 out of 29 games this season.
Southern Miss (16-13; 9-7)
- After falling to the Jags last Thursday night, the Golden Eagles rebounded with a dominant 82-71 victory over Louisiana.
- The Golden Eagles are ranked sixth in the Sun Belt with two regular season games remaining.
- Southern Miss is second in the Sun Belt and 40th in the country in blocks per game, contributing 4.72 per contest.
- Austin Crowley is third in the conference in points per game (16.2), eighth in assists per game (3.3), and 12th in field goal percentage (38.2).
