LOXLEY, Ala. - South Alabama's improvement in the final day wasn't enough to move them higher than 10th, but
Filip Svendsen moved up 10 spots in round three and
Josh Hill jumped up nine.
Hugo Thyr maintained course throughout the weekend to place 18th to lead the Jags. Svendsen progressed each round, swinging under par in his final round to support the total, and senior
Kevin Dahlberg maintained a constant score, posting four-over on the weekend.
Kansas State's Nick Mason set a tournament record with his 17-under performance, while Illinois took the team title with a 30-under performance.
QUOTES
Head Coach Ben Hannan
Overall thoughts on the first half of the season
This season, for such a young group, we had some really good play throughout. Obviously, we're disappointed in our finish this weekend. Being at home, you always want to play well, but all in all, there were some very positive things that we can build on. A second place finish, multiple rounds under par, and some great individual play, we've got work to do in the break but we're excited with what's to come.
