MOBILE, Ala.| Incoming freshman
Ryley Harrison added another honor to her resume Thursday as she was one of five players from the state of Alabama to be named Second-Team All-American by MaxPreps.
Harrison was also named Miss Softball by the Alabama Sports Writers Association and to the organization's Super All-State Softball team earlier this summer. In addition to those honors, she was selected the Class 7A Player of the Year and a first-team all-state selection by the ASWA and named to the 2023 AL.com Coastal high school softball Terrific 20 and the group's Player of the Year.
The Fairhope, Ala., native was 26-1 in the circle this past season and record 275 strikeouts (12 per 7 innings), 17 shutouts, three no-hitters, three perfect games, a .074 ERA and .138 batting average against opposing batters. She was also a force at the plate batting .474, with 36 runs scored, 64 hits, 76 RBI, eight doubles, two triples, 20 home runs, to go along with a .572 on-base and 1.580 OPS.
Harrison helped lead Fairhope to the Class 7A title game earlier this spring. The Pirates also won the championship in 2021 and finished fourth in 2022.
