JACKSONVILLE, Fla. | South Alabama closed out its competition in the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminaries on Saturday with a pair of field events.
Colette Uys finished 18th overall in the discus competition with a throw of 50.89 meters (166-11), while
Kiara Risher finished tied for 17th overall in the high jump just 0.05 meters from a qualifying spot for the NCAAs with a height of 1.72 meters (5-07.75).
The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held June 7-June 10 in Austin on the campus of the University of Texas, and the Jags will send a trio of student-athletes into competition led by
Francois Prinsloo (discus). He will be joined by
Kyle Rademeyer (pole vault) and
Kirami Yego (10,000 meters).
