JACKSONVILLE, Fla. | Just one year removed from an eighth-place finish,
Kyle Rademeyer returns to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the pole vault after qualifying on Wednesday night at the NCAA East Preliminaries.
Rademeyer finished tied for seventh overall in the event with a clearance of 5.40 meters (17-08.50), finishing tied with Hunter Garretson of Akron. Keaton Daniel of Kentucky led all 12 qualifiers in the event, with the jump by Rademeyer finishing just 0.01 meters off the facility record.
Meanwhile,
Kirami Yego advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 10,000-meters with a fifth-place finish in a time of 29:03.53, finishing less than a second behind Perry Mackinnon of Cornell for fourth place. He finished just three seconds out of third (Nickolas Scudder of Charlotte), with Victor Kiprop of Alabama crossing the line first in a time of 28:54.97.
Kendal White finished the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.67 seconds.
The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held June 7-June 10 in Austin on the campus of the University of Texas. The NCAA East Preliminaries will continue Thursday at the University of North Florida with
Colette Uys and
Bodine Degli-Umberti competing in the women's hammer throw at 10 am (ET) and the shot put at 6 pm (ET).
