Quotable from coach Nick Brochu
"Good win. Georgia Southern has had a great year. They had a change in coaching, and you never know how the team will respond, but those guys have been having their best year in probably 15 years. They are very dangerous, very talented. When you play a team like them, it's like dynamite – you need to care of business before it explodes in your face. I thought we did good in doubles. Number one doubles, we got Louis and Jack reunited and they just blended right away. It's good to see them back and they played so solid. Number three served for the match. We played a sloppy game, but we turned it around and we were able to close it really fast. We made sure to set the tone in doubles and I told them it was going to be a very competitive match, so the doubles point was very important.
We went into singles and for a while, we were winning at one, two and three and losing at four, five and six. We knew we had to stay tough on the matches we were winning already. We had some guys who had some off days, but I think it's proof we have a good team when guys are playing well, someone else needs to pick it up and we can do that. Louis played a tremendous match. He's a senior and he wanted to make sure his last weekend in Mobile went well and he finished it strong. Same thing with Seb, he played some massive tennis. Last year, those two played in the conference championship and Seb had to clinch 6-4 in the third so that was a high-level match. He did an amazing job. Max struggled to close the match, but we went basic and played point by point, not trying anything crazy, and playing steady and he closed it. He was very excited. When you win matches after struggling, it's even more rewarding so I think he's going to enjoy that one. Beating Georgia Southern is a big win. That's the team that is hot this season, so it's a good win and it will help our seeding going into the conference tournament. This was a good statement. We didn't have all six players playing perfect tennis, but we managed to get a good win."
