MOBILE, Ala. – The South Alabama women's tennis team looks to bounce back after a 0-2 weekend, returning home to Mobile to host Coastal Carolina on Saturday and Georgia Southern on Sunday. Both matches will take place at 10 a.m.

South is now 12-3 (2-2) on the season, coming off two losses over the weekend, falling to Sun Belt newcomers No. 23 Old Dominion on Saturday and James Madison on Sunday.

South earned just three wins over the weekend, all on Sunday. Freshmen
Tereza Dejnozkova and
Chems Doha Zeghlouli won their matches on Sunday against James Madison, after the duo of Zeghlouli and
Otoha Aoki got a 6-3 doubles win.

Senior
Luminita Tutunaru leads the Jags with an 11-3 record on the year, going 3-3 from number one and 8-0 from number two. Zeghlouli has posted a 10-1 record on the year, while Dejnozkova is 10-2.

The doubles duo of
Nikola Novotna and
Elysia Pool are 6-3 on the year, all from the number two spot in doubles.

Coastal Carolina is 12-4 on the season, and is riding a 12-match winning streak. The Chanticleers claimed two wins in week three of conference play, beating Louisiana 4-1 and Texas State 6-1.

The Eagles of Georgia Southern are 12-3 in 2023 and have won three straight, beating Troy, Louisiana and Texas State.

South is 6-1 all-time against Coastal Carolina, beating the Chanticleers 4-1 in the last meeting in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament last April. The Jags are undefeated against Coastal in Mobile.

The Jags lead the series 9-2 against Georgia Southern, going 2-1 against the Eagles in Mobile.

All home matches are held at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts and admission is free.
