Quotable from coach Nick Brochu
"It was a good win. We talked before the match and the game plan when you play a team like Southern Miss, you've got to have a big start. We told them the doubles point was very important and then the first five games of the match are crucial. If you give them the lead or give them the tiebreaker, Southern Miss is a dangerous team. The game plan was to have a big start and the guys did a good job. In doubles, we started well and then maybe got a little too comfortable, had to come down to number one doubles and they played really big. It should not have been that close, number three were up a break and got too sloppy, and let Southern Miss come back and win it. Number two took care of business and number one stepped up at the end to give us the point.

In singles, I told the guys we needed to go really hard at the beginning and that's what we did. We won five first sets, the only set we lost was 7-6. We set the tone really early. The guys at one, two and three – Seb, Max and Louis – played really solid tennis. I told the guys that to win today, we did not have to play spectacular, we had to play consistent and very disciplined until your opponent gives you a few points here and there. I think the guys, especially on top, did a very very good job. Four, five and six all went to super tiebreakers for the third and were able to win two out of three, very happy with this. Getting ready for another big battle tomorrow."
