MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama men's and women's track and field have their first outdoor meet of the season, as they host the Jaguar Throws and Pole Vault Opener at Jaguar Track, March 2-3.

The meet will consist of five events for each team, beginning with the hammer throw Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. The meet will conclude with the javelin, shot put, pole vault and discus events beginning on Friday morning.

While most of the athletes are from South Alabama, two teams will be represented at the event. The University of Mobile is sending athletes to compete against the Jaguars.

NOTES
- This is the first event following the Sun Belt Indoor Championships.
- The men's team is looking to repeat as Sun Belt outdoor champions.
- This is the first of two meets this season that South Alabama will host. The second is the South Alabama Invitational on March 17-18.
- Bodine Degli-Umberti and Colette Uys, winners of the conference indoor weight throw and shot put respectively, will each compete in the hammer throw event.
- This will be the first hammer throw, javelin, and discus competitions of the season.
