MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama track and field will compete in the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Birmingham Monday and Tuesday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

The meet will begin with the pentathlon events at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, and the track events start with the women's mile run at 3:05 p.m. On Tuesday, the heptathlon events will conclude, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The awards presentations are scheduled to take place at 5:00 p.m.

In last year's conference championship, the men's team took fourth place, in addition to four individual first-place finishes (
Francois Prinsloo, weight throw;
Kyle Rademeyer, pole vault;
Kirami Yego, 3000 and 5000 meters). The women finished in eighth place.

NOTES
- Yego has the second-fastest mile time in the conference this season, trailing the first-place time by .01 of a second.
- Yego also has the second-fastest time in the 3000 meters (8:11.28) and the fastest time in the 5000 meters (13:38.45).
- Rademeyer has recorded the top pole vault mark in the Sun Belt this year (5.62 meters).
- The Jags have two individuals in the top three of the high jump competitions. Kiara Risher (1.75 meters) has the third-highest mark on the women's side, while Dorian Curry's mark of 2.15 meters is second-highest among the men.
- In the women's shot put, Colette Uys has recorded the second-longest throw in the conference (15.90 meters).
- Bodine Degli-Umberti owns the top mark in the women's weight throw at 19.44 meters, and Prinsloo is second on the men's side (19.28 meters).
