NEW ORLEANS – South Alabama women's golfer
Greta Rietdorf was named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, as announced Friday by the league office.
Rietdorf won individual medalist honors at the Hoover Invitational, hosted by UAB, Sept. 19-20 at Hoover Country Club in Hoover, Ala. She recorded a three-under-par three-round total of 213 (72-71-70). It marked her first career tournament win, and the first time a Jaguar has earned medalist honors since
Siti Shaari at last year's Tchefuncta Invitational in Covington, La.
Rietdorf shot par or better in each round of the Hoover Invitational, and has posted just one round over par – a 2-over par 74 at the Jaguar Invitational – this season in two events. She currently boasts a 70.83 stroke average in six rounds of play this season.
