MOBILE, Ala. – Three of South Alabama's four regular-season cross country meets will be held in the Jags' home state as released in the schedule by the program on Friday.

South will open up the 2022 season when it hosts the Azalea City Classic – its only home meet of the fall – on Fri., Sept. 9 at Brookley by the Bay. 

A week later, both Jag squads travel to Huntsville, Ala., to compete in the South Region Preview hosted by North Alabama at McFarland Park on Fri., Sept. 16, which will also serve as the course for this fall's NCAA South Regional site (Nov. 12).

USA will then close out the first month of the season at the Joe Piane Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on the Burke Golf Course.

The final regular-season meet sees the Jaguars travel north to compete in the Crimson Classic hosted by Alabama at Harry Pritchett Running Park on Oct. 14.

This fall's conference championship meet will be held for the first time in Foley, Ala., as the Foley Sports Complex will serve as the site for the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Championships.

At the 2021 league championship meet, Kirami Yego became the 11th male runner from the South Alabama to win individual honors, while Onesmus Kemboi placed sixth to pick up second-team accolades, helping the Jaguar men place third. Adele Magaud tied for fourth to capture first-team honors in the women's 5k.

The 2022 NCAA Championship meet will be held on Sat., Nov. 19 in Stillwater, Okla., at the OSU Cross Country Course and hosted by Oklahoma State University.
