 All-Time Series
South Alabama owns a 27-23 all-time lead over Tulane in a series that dates back to 1966. The Jaguars defeated the Green Wave 8-1 on April 26 this season at Stanky Field. USA has won three of the last four matchups against Tulane dating back to 2010. South Alabama is 1-1 all-time against Tulane under head coach Mark Calvi.

STOKES CLIMBING CAREER RECORDS LIST
First baseman Hunter Stokes ranks third in career games played (226) at South Alabama, and needs to appear in eight games to pass Brett Parker (233) for the most games played in program history. He ranks fifth in career at-bats (744) after passing Mike Mordecai (733) over the weekend, and seventh in career walks (126) entering the week and needs two to pass Tyrone Dixon (127) for sixth on the career list.

HIT STREAKS, ON-BASE STREAKS
Will Turner carries a team-best 33-game on-base streak into the series. Diego Altamirano and Erick Orbeta each enter the week with a 29-game on-base streak. Orbeta owns the team's longest hit streak at 12 games.

SIMINGTON IN NATIONAL, SBC RANKINGS
Right fielder Miles Simington ranks 12th nationally in hits per game (1.64) and 23rd in hits (72), both of which lead the Sun Belt Conference. Simington also leads the league in batting average (.391), ranks fourth in RBIs (46) and total bases (110), fifth in on-base percentage (.458), sixth in triples (3), tied for sixth in doubles (14), eighth in OPS (1.056) and ninth in slugging percentage (.598).

TISSUE AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS 
Third baseman Cameron Tissue ranks third nationally in sacrifice bunts per game (0.32), which leads the Sun Belt Conference, and fifth in sacrifice bunts (12), which ranks second in the league. Pat Murphy (1992) owns the single-season record at USA for sacrifice bunts with 18.

JAGS IN NATIONAL, SBC RANKINGS
The South Alabama pitching staff ranks 19th nationally in hits allowed per nine innings (8.00), 21st in shutouts (4) and 25th in WHIP (1.31) - all of which lead the Sun Belt Conference. The Jags are tied for the league lead in opponent batting average (.240), rank second in fewest hits allowed (364), runs allowed (220) and earned runs allowed (197).

STOKES AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS IN DOUBLES
First baseman Hunter Stokes enters the week tied for second in the Sun Belt Conference in doubles (15), and recorded his first double after an eight-game drought in last weekend's series opener against Arkansas State.

WOOD TO MAKE FIRST CAREER START
Right-hander Grant Wood is scheduled to make his first career start in Tuesday's contest at Tulane. Wood enters the game with an 0-1 record, three saves and 4.30 ERA with 21 strikeouts against eight walks in 14 2/3 innings pitched this season. His season high in innings pitched came against UT-Arlington when he tossed 2 2/3 innings.

ORBETA IN SBC RANKINGS
Second baseman Erick Orbeta ranks tied for third in the SBC in walks (33) entering the week. He also ranks sixth in the league in runs scored (43).

ALTAMIRANO SECOND IN OBP
Catcher Diego Altamirano ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference in on-base percentage (.481) entering the week. Altamirano has reached base safely in 29 straight games.

176 AND COUNTING
Shortstop Santi Montiel has started 176 consecutive games - every game since he joined the program in 2019 - with his 150th coming in the series finale with UT Arlington on March 20.
RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION
South Alabama is batting .306 (177-for-578) with runners in scoring position this season. Will Turner is htting .400 (20-for-50) with RISP, and Miles Simington is batting .386 (22-for-57).

LAST 6 OUTS
The Jaguars are 23-1 when leading after seven innings this season, but are 0-14 when trailing after seven frames and 3-4 when the score is tied through seven. USA suffered its first loss of the season when leading after seven innings in last Tuesday's 6-4 loss to No. 5 Southern Miss after allowing three runs in the top of the ninth inning.

SCORE 6 OR MORE
South Alabama is 23-6 when scoring six or more runs this season, but 4-13 when scoring five or fewer. 

OUTHITTING THE OPPOSITION
South Alabama is 26-3 when outhitting opponents this season, but is 1-13 when being out-hit and 0-3 when hits are tied. The Jags tied their season high in hits (16) in Sunday's series finale with Arkansas State, matching their previous highs against Alabama State (April 5) and Texas State (May 1).

5 RUNS OR LESS
The Jags are 23-5 when holding opponents to five or less runs this season, but are 4-14 when allowing six or more. USA defeated Arkansas State 9-7 in the series finale, marking its second win in the last five games, dating back to the May series finale at Texas State, in which it has allowed more than five runs.
