MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama head women's basketball Terry Fowler announced on Wednesday that Maggie Robinson has signed a grant-in-aid and will join the program in the fall.
Robinson is transferring from Old Dominion and will have one year of eligibility left.
"We are excited to welcome Maggie back to Mobile," Fowler said. "This is her home and she is ready to represent our city! She will add leadership, energy and high production to our team. Her versatility on the perimeter and rebounding presences makes her the perfect fit."
The Mobile, Ala. native, spent three seasons with ODU after two at Shelton State Community College. During her time with the Monarchs Robinson started in 55 contests, averaging 30 minutes each game. In her graduate season she averaged 7.9 points and 5.2 rebounds. Her 22 3-pointers were the most of any Monarch in the 2020-21 season.
At Shelton State Robinson helped guide Shelton State to back-to-back NJCAA Final Four appearances and ACCC Championships. During her sophomore season she averaged 12 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Her performance landed her on the All-ACCC North First Team and NCJAA All-Tournament Team.
Robinson is a graduate of W.P. Davidson High School where she earned All-State Third Team honors. She is the sixth newcomer to join the Jaguars for the 2022-23 season and is the first Division I transfer of the class.
