JONESBORO, Ark. – South Alabama women's basketball (7-4, 0-1) will face Arkansas State (9-3, 1-0) in a road test at 2 p.m. on Saturday at First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro, Ark.
SERIES HISTORY:
The Jaguars are 15-46 against the Red Wolves, with their last meeting resulting in an 80-63 deficit on Feb. 1, 2025, in Jonesboro, Ark.
SCOUTING THE JAGS:
- South Alabama travels to Jonesboro after losing to Southern Miss on Thursday, 84-65. The game was the conference opener for both programs.
- Cordasia Harris has displayed an impressive performance across the Jaguars' last four games, recording four consecutive double-doubles. Harris also ranks nationally in the following categories: offensive rebounds per game (12th, 4.2), double-doubles (15th, 5), blocks per game (25th, 2.00) and total blocks (27th, 22).
- The Jaguars continue to display strength from beyond the arc, shooting 38.8 percent and ranking in the top-15 nationally. Daniela Gonzalez ranks third in three-point percentage, shooting 53.3%.
SCOUTING THE RED WOLVES:
- A-State welcomes the Jaguars after a dominant 21-point victory over ULM on Thursday. The Red Wolves finished their non-conference slate with an 8-3 record.
- The Red Wolves rank in the national top-10 in turnovers forced per game (2nd, 28.00), three-point attempts per game (2nd, 33.9), three-pointers per game (3rd, 10.7), turnover margin (8th, 10.50) and steals per game (9th, 14.8).
- Arkansas State is the reigning Sun Belt Tournament Champion, also having faced UConn in the opening round of last season's NCAA Tournament.
