NEW ORLEANS – The University of South Alabama track & field's Kyle Rademeyer was voted Sun Belt Conference Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
Rademeyer recorded the top men's pole vault mark (5.55m/18-2.50) in the Sun Belt Conference, while breaking both the Southern Miss Invitational meet record and the program pole vault record on Friday. The Sophomore currently ranks third nationally in the men's pole vault.
The Paarl, South Africa, native currently holds both the indoor (5.60m) and outdoor (5.55m) pole vault school records.
The selection marks the first time a Jaguar has received the award since Autavia Fluker was named SBC Field Athlete of the Week on March 25, 2021. This is Rademeyer's first time receiving the weekly conference award.
The Jaguar track and field teams will be back in action this week starting Thursday at the UAB Green and Gold Invite and Multi in Birmingham, Ala., followed by the Triton Invitational on Friday in San Diego, Calif.
