STARKVILLE, Miss. – Kiara Risher claimed a victory while tying the University of South Alabama track and field program's high jump record Friday at the Maroon and White Invite.

High jumper Risher and thrower Sebastian Löschner (discus) both earned wins during the first day of the meet. The Jaguars notched nine top-5 finishes alongside the record-tying victory by Risher.

MEN'S/WOMEN'S RUNNING NOTES
- Abbey Weitenbeck finished fourth in the 1500m after clocking a time of 4:44.03.

MEN'S/WOMEN'S FIELD NOTES
- Risher earned a victory in the high jump while tying the program record with a 1.81m mark. 
- Löschner won the discus with a mark of 53.55m.
- Colette Uys (55.59m) and Kira Benkmann (54.27m) placed second and third, respectively, in the hammer throw. Benkmann's mark is a new personal best and sits at 10th on the all-time program list. 
- The trio of Viktor Turek (54.23m), Dimitrios Manesiotis (53.81m) and Quinton Webb (53.28m) swept the third, fourth and fifth place spots in the hammer throw.
- Dorian Curry took third place in the high jump with a height of 2.07m. 
- In the discus, Bodine Degli-Umberti (50.98m) finished in the runner-up spot while Uys (48.91m) placed third.

The Jaguars will finish competition at the Maroon and White Invite tomorrow, with the first event, the women's pole vault, starting at 11:00 a.m.
