 All-Time Series
South Alabama owns a 26-23 all-time lead over Tulane in a series that dates back to 1966. Tulane defeated USA 11-1 in 2019 in New Orleans, which marked the last meeting between the schools. Prior to the 2019 matchup, the Jags had won two straight against the Green Wave - an 8-6 win at Tulane in 2011 and 7-2 win at Stanky Field in 2010. South Alabama is 0-1 all-time against Tulane under head coach Mark Calvi. 

SIMINGTON IN NATIONAL, SBC RANKINGS
Right fielder Miles Simington ranks 15th nationally in hits per game (1.67), which leads the Sun Belt Conference. Simington also leads the SBC in batting average (.395), tied for the league lead in hits (60), ranks third in RBIs (38), tied for third in triples (3), sixth in total bases (88) and on-base percentage (.460), eighth in OPS (1.039) and ninth in slugging percentage (.579). 

HIT STREAKS, ON-BASE STREAKS
Will Turner carries a team-best 25 game on-base streak into the game. Diego Altamirano enters the contest with a 23-game on-base streak, and Erick Orbeta has reached safely in 21 straight games. Miles Simington carries a team-best eight-game hit streak into Tuesday's matchup.

TISSUE AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS 
Third baseman Cameron Tissue ranks third nationally in sacrifice bunts per game (0.33), which leads the Sun Belt Conference, and sixth in sacrifice bunts (10), which ranks second in the league. Tissue's last sacrifice bunt came in the series finale at Troy on April 15. Pat Murphy (1992) owns the single-season record at USA for sacrifice bunts with 18.

JAGS IN NATIONAL, SBC RANKINGS
The South Alabama pitching staff ranks 14th nationally in WHIP (1.25) and shutouts (4), and hits allowed per nine innings (7.68) - all of which lead the Sun Belt Conference. USA also leads the league in fewest hits allowed (291), runs allowed (174), and tied for the conference lead in opponent batting average (.232). 

STOKES TIED FOR LEAGUE LEAD IN DOUBLES
First baseman Hunter Stokes enters the week tied for the Sun Belt Conference lead in doubles (14). His last double came last Tuesday at Southeastern Louisiana.

ALTAMIRANO SECOND IN OBP
Catcher Diego Altamirano ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference in on-base percentage (.477) entering Tuesday's contest. Altamirano has reached base safely in 23 straight games.

168 AND COUNTING
Shortstop Santi Montiel has started 168 consecutive games - every game since he joined the program in 2019 - with his 150th coming in the series finale with UT Arlington on March 20.

JAGUAR PINCH-HITTING
South Alabama is batting .286 (10-for-35) in pinch-hit situations this season. Kasey Donaldson is hitting .385 (5-for-13) as a pinch-hitter this season, which leads the Jaguars.

LAST 6 OUTS
The Jaguars are 19-0 when leading after seven innings this season, but are 0-12 when trailing after seven frames and 3-4 when the score is tied through seven. 

SCORE 6 OR MORE
South Alabama is 18-5 when scoring six or more runs this season, but 4-11 when scoring five or fewer. 

OUTHITTING THE OPPOSITION
South Alabama is 21-3 when outhitting opponents this season, but is 1-10 when being out-hit and 0-3 when hits are tied. South Alabama was out-hit in two of three games last weekend against Georgia Southern. The Jaguars have been out-hit in five of its last six games, with the exception coming in game two of the Georgia Southern series when each team recorded seven hits apiece. 

5 RUNS OR LESS
The Jags are 20-5 when holding opponents to five or less runs this season, but are 2-11 when allowing six or more. USA held Georgia Southern to five runs in the series opener, but fell to 5-4.

RUN PRODUCTION LAST WEEK
In four games last week, South Alabama scored a total of 16 runs for an average of four runs per game. The Jags averaged 8.5 hits per game last week, and recorded 10 or more hits in one game (at Southeastern Louisiana).

JAGS WITH BASES LOADED
The Jags are batting .156 (7-for-45) with the bases loaded this season. USA has loaded the bags 22 times in its last 12 games, and is 2-for-22 during that stretch for a .091 batting average.
