JAGUAR TRACK AND FIELD EARNS THREE WINS AT CRIMSON TIDE INVITATIONAL

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of South Alabama track and field teams earned three wins among multiple top-5 and top-10 placements this weekend at the Crimson Tide Invitational hosted by Alabama. 

The Jaguars' six top-5 and 24 top-10 finishes at the meet were highlighted by three wins by Kirami Yego (5000m), Francois Prinsloo (Discus) and Nate Pudner (Unseeded 5000m). South Alabama saw 19 personal records fall in Tuscaloosa this weekend.

MEN'S/WOMEN'S RUNNING NOTES
- Yego earned a victory in the 5000m with a time of 14.01.07 while Pudner (14.59.84) won while setting a personal record in the unseeded section of the race.
- Jared Peaslee finished in the runner-up spot in the unseeded 5000m after clocking a time of 15:21.98.

MEN'S/WOMEN'S FIELD NOTES
- Prinsloo won the invitational discus throw by a four-meter margin with a mark of 62.74m.
- Kiara Risher finished in the runner-up spot in the high jump while matching her personal-best mark of 1.76m. 
- Chrisitan Elllis recorded a triple jump mark of 14.91m, good for third place. 
- Riley Caudill set a PR while taking fourth in the pole vault invitational with a 3.97m height. She now holds the fourth-highest mark in program history.
- Freshman Alexis Gratia (3.77m) finished third in the pole vault while setting a personal record.
- Sebastian Reyneke placed fourth in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 7.06m. His mark is 10th on the all-time program list.

UP NEXT 
The Jaguars will travel to Starkville, Miss., on April 29 to compete in their final regular-season meet, the Maroon and White Invite, hosted by Mississippi State.
