 All-Time Series
South Alabama owns a 20-10 all-time lead over Georgia Southern in a series that dates back to 1987. The Jaguars defeated the Eagles 10-4 in last year's Sun Belt Conference Championship final to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA postseason. Georgia Southern has won the last two series by taking two of three games the last two series (2019 & '21). USA won its last series over Georgia Southern with a three-game sweep of the Eagles at Stanky Field in 2018. South Alabama is 15-8 all-time against Georgia Southern under head coach Mark Calvi.

SIMINGTON IN NATIONAL, SBC RANKINGS
Right fielder Miles Simington ranks 25th nationally in hits per game (1.61), which leads the Sun Belt Conference, entering the series. Simington also leads the SBC in hits (53), ranks second in batting average (.387), tied for second in triples (3), third in RBIs (38), fifth in on-base percentage (.460), sixth in total bases (81) and OPS (1.051), and ninth in slugging percentage (.591).

HIT STREAKS, ON-BASE STREAKS
Will Turner carries a team-best 22-game on-base streak into Friday's series opener. Diego Altamirano enters the series with a 21-game on-base streak, and Erick Orbeta carries a 18-game on-base streak into the weekend. Landon Jordan enters the series opener with a team-best 10-game hitting streak.

JORDAN DURING HIT STREAK
Infielder Landon Jordan is batting .474 (18-for-38) with seven doubles, two home runs, nine RBIs, 10 runs scored, one stolen base, a .524 on-base percentage and .816 slugging percentage during his current 10-game hitting streak. Jordan has recorded multiple hits in six of those contests, and driven in at least one run in five games during that span.

TISSUE AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS 
Third baseman Cameron Tissue ranks tied for third nationally in sacrifice bunts (10) entering the series opener. Tissue is also tied for the Sun Belt Conference lead in sac bunts with Georgia Southern's Christian Avant. Pat Murphy (1992) owns the single-season record at USA for sacrifice bunts with 18.

JAGS IN NATIONAL, SBC RANKINGS
The South Alabama pitching staff ranks 10th nationally in hits allowed per nine innings (7.45), 11th in WHIP (1.23), 14th in shutouts (4), and 25th in ERA (3.96) - all of which lead the Sun Belt Conference. The Jags also lead the league in fewest hits allowed (260), runs allowed (155), earned runs allowed (138), walks allowed (126), and opponent batting average (.226).

STOKES LEADS LEAGUE IN DOUBLES
First baseman Hunter Stokes leads the Sun Belt Conference in doubles (14) entering the weekend. Stokes recorded his league-leading 14th double in Tuesday's contest at Southeastern Louisiana, and has eight doubles in 15 Sun Belt contests.

164 AND COUNTING
Shortstop Santi Montiel has started 165 consecutive games - every game since he joined the program in 2019 - with his 150th coming in the series finale with UT Arlington on March 20.

BOZ IN SBC RANKINGS
Right-hander Matt Boswell enters his start on Friday ranked second in the Sun Belt Conference in innings pitched (53.1), tied for second in strikeouts (62) and wins (5), fourth in opponent batting average (.203), sixth in walks allowed (11) and 10th in ERA (3.38). Boswell has allowed three earned runs or fewer in seven of his nine starts this season. 

LEADING AFTER 7 INNINGS
The Jaguars are 19-0 when leading after seven innings this season, but are 0-10 when trailing after seven frames and 3-2 when the score is tied through seven.

SMITH IN SBC RANKINGS
Right-hander Miles Smith ranks second in the Sun Belt in opposing batting average (.172), tied for second in wins (5), fourth in hits allowed (29), fifth in strikeouts (52), tied for sixth in runs allowed (19) and tied for seventh in earned runs allowed (16).

ALTAMIRANO ON BASE
Catcher Diego Altamirano ranks fourth in the SBC in on-base percentage (.463) entering the series. Altamirano has reached base safely in 21 straight games entering the series. 

OUTHITTING THE OPPOSITION
South Alabama is 21-3 when outhitting opponents this season, but is 1-8 when being out-hit and 0-2 when hits are tied. The Jags have been out-hit in four of their last five games, with the series opener at Troy serving as the lone exception during that span. 

HOLD'EM UNDER 5
The Jags are 20-4 when holding opponents to five or less runs this season, but are 2-9 when allowing six or more.

6 OR MORE
South Alabama is 18-5 when scoring six or more runs this season, but 4-8 when scoring five or fewer. The Jags scored six runs in Tuesday's loss at Southeastern Louisiana, which marked the second loss in their last three contests in which they scored six or more runs. 

HITS AND RUNS
South Alabama has recorded 10 or more hits in four straight games, and five of its last six entering the weekend. The Jags have totaled 48 hits in their last four games for an average of 12 hits per contest.
