4/15/2022 8:44:00 AM

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama football team will wrap up the spring practice schedule with its Annual Red & Blue Spring Game at Hancock Whitney Stadium on Saturday.

Kickoff for the Red-Blue game is set for 10 a.m. Gates at Hancock Whitney will open at 9 a.m., which will give Jaguar fans an opportunity to purchase items from the athletic department in its first-ever department yard sale prior to the spring game.

Items slated to be available for sale include helmets, jerseys and other apparel at prices ranging from $10 up to $150. Also included are last year's specialty helmet decals, with a full set of 5 (Hank Aaron 44, Mobile skyline, SouthPaw, U.S.S. Alabama battleship and the new Jaguar logo) on sale for $20.

Also scheduled Saturday morning is a pre-game Easter egg hunt inside the Jaguar Training Center at 9:30 a.m. Parking lots open at 8 a.m. Admission for the Red-Blue game is free to the general public.

The game will feature a traditional offense vs. defense format, with first-team units matched up against each other, and second-team units matched up with second-team units on the other side of the ball.

In addition to the traditional scrimmage format, the game will include a "red-zone lockout" period near the end, with points awarded for touchdowns and field goals, but also to the defense for preventing scores with turnovers or three & outs. There will also a quarterback passing challenge, along with a segment with offensive and defensive linemen attempting to catch punts and kickoffs.
